Jane and Maurice Guidinger, 2003

Welcome to our homepage

My name is Jane Guidinger, and my husband's name is Maurice. We have both been involved with dogs since we were married, and I, many years before that. The Irish Setter has always been thought of by many artists, including myself, to be the most beautiful of dogs. This fun-loving, active breed captured my heart in the early 1970's. Not the brightest breed on the block but nevertheless capable of many things. Most importantly, they serve as wonderful family pets. They are great with children and other dogs, and they must always be a part of the family, not living alone in the back yard.

We got involved with Shetland Sheepdogs when we purchased our bi-blue Templeton for our son in 1993. We were looking for a breed that he could show in junior handling, obedience and agility. I had trained and earned many obedience titles on the Irish, but this Sheltie was like an Einstein dog, and that became his nick-name as a puppy. Templeton was joined by a bi-black Sheltie, Fancy, in 2003.

We presently have two Irish Setters, Chance and Kilo. A new Sheltie, Captain joined us in 2006. All three are competing in 2008.
